We had a fun-filled week celebrating Dr. Suess' birthday and the book fair! Here's a quick overview:
On Monday the whole school read the Dr. Seuss book, Oh The Thinks You Can Think! and students were given the opportunity to draw their own "think." We had 232 students turn in their drawings. We have them displayed in the hallway near the media center if you have a chance to stop by the school.
On Tuesday, we gave out bookmarks to the students. These bookmarks were created by our very own Art Club here at Garrison Mill! We also had a family fun night at our book fair from 5-7 with 71 families in attendance
On Wednesday had a DEAR day - Drop Everything and Read - from 10:00 am - 10:30 am.
On Thursday, we had nine KSU Football players visit us as special guest readers.
On Friday, we closed out the book fair in addition to drawing five winners from each grade level to win some Dr. Seuss gear.
Thanks so much to everyone who participated and helped us celebrate not only Dr. Seuss' birthday, but a love of reading!
